| The combined unit of the ORF broadcasting and TV transmitting station was opened on the Kitzbüheler Horn, at 1996 m, on 12th December 1969. After long and concentrated negotiations with the authorities and land owners and two years of difficult building activities in the high mountains, the Horn transmitting station has been placed harmoniously into the surrounding landscape.
The 102 m tall structure, executed by the architect Lois Holk-Hrebicek, is a tripod reinforced concrete construction topped by the antenna, a 75.6 m high steel tube tower. |
